The Ruin of Gabriel Ashleigh

Apparently, I love everything I pick up by K.J. Charles. I was in a Ms Charles mood and chose between some magpie adventure and The Ruin of Gabriel Ashleigh. In the end, I grabbed The Ruin of Gabriel Ashleigh (Society of Gentlemen 0.5) and I’m not sorry.

This is just a short little story, but damn!

The night before, Ash gambled away everything he owns and he did so to Francis Webster. Francis Webster! His enemy.

Though not really his enemy, he’s more Ash’s brother’s enemy and therefore his by association. And then there was that incident when Ash made a fool out of himself by mocking Francis in public.

Francis invites Ash for a private game. Ash know there is no way he’ll be able to win back his money but he doesn’t have much choice than to try.

But Francis doesn’t want his money, it’s Ash’s body that’s at stake.

Cardgames and dirty talk, what more can you wish for? I’m so glad I read this.

The Ruin of Gabriel AshleighPassion is on the cards for two reckless rogues as K. J. Charles ups the ante in her Society of Gentlemen series with a sizzling eBook short story.

The youngest son and the blackest sheep in his family, Lord Gabriel Ashleigh never imagined he could sink so low. Though he’s a notoriously bad gambler, he takes on the formidable but strangely alluring Francis Webster, only to lose everything: all his money, the lovely estate he inherited from his aunt, and any hope of future happiness. So it’s a shock when Webster summons him to a private game for a chance to win back his possessions. The stake? If he fails, Ash must surrender his body.

Francis has been waiting years for this moment. At Eton, Ash’s elder brother harassed him relentlessly. Now, consumed by lust and rage, Francis is only too happy to exploit Ash’s foolish indiscretions. But as Francis strips the magnificently built youth—first of his family assets, then his clothes—he begins to wonder whether he’s been plotting revenge . . . or exquisite seduction.
