Ugly Christmas Sweater

So I’ve started reading Christmas stories, apparently. Ugly Christmas Sweater by Tara Harris. I haven’t read anything by Tara Harris before, but the title snagged my attention LOL.

Joel is a shy, quiet guy who’s had a crush on his friend Nick for ages so when Nick calls him and asks him to come to a mutual friend’s Christmas party Joel says yes. On the way there, he learns that it’s an ugly Christmas sweater party but not worry, Nick has a sweater for him.

This is a cute, funny, friends to lovers story. Sometimes it was a bit hard to know who was saying what and another round of proofreading might have been good, but the idea was fun.

Ugly Christmas SweaterJoel’s never been on Santa’s Naughty List.

But what happens when the ugly Christmas sweaters come off?

When his gorgeous friend Nick invites him to an ugly Christmas sweater party, Joel can’t say no. Even though going on a non-date with the guy he’s been crushing on forever is officially a Bad Idea. But who’d have thought Nick could look so hot in a Christmas tree sweater with actual blinking lights?

When the sweater Nick lends Joel turns out to be baby blue with flying bunny reindeer, Joel feels like a total dork. In fact, he’s ready to spend the whole party hiding in the bathroom. But something in Nick’s eyes gives him a sudden surge of confidence. If things go Joel’s way, he might end up on Santa’s naughty list this year.

This sweet bit of holiday fluff is for a mature audience. It has a happy ending, no cliffhanger, and a deliciously gooey center.

Christmas is coming to Nortown

Have you started reading your holiday stories? I haven’t read any yet but looks what’s up for pre-order, yay!

Christmas has arrived to Nortown, and someone has to be Santa during a Christmas party at Jen’s café. That someone is no other than Zachary Fane from Once in May.

John isn’t thrilled. He might like to go Jen’s from some pre-opening-hours breakfast, but a café packed with people is not his idea of fun. But no matter how much he wished he could stay at home in his safe, peaceful home, he finds himself at Jen’s watching from afar as Zachary plays the part of Santa.

Luckily the party comes to an end, and one after another people are leaving until John and Santa are the only two remaining. Now, for some reason you are supposed to sit on Santa’s lap and tell him what you wish for, so John does just that…

Honey Baked (Nortown #5.5) will be published on November 30th, but it’s up for pre-order in some of the shops and will appear in others in just a couple of days.

Honey Baked

All John wants is to stay at home in peace and quiet, but when the Santa booked for the town’s Christmas party at Jen’s cafe catches a fever, Zachary decides to take his place. It’s just for a few hours, John should be able to take part in the celebrations like any normal person, but instead, he finds himself hiding in the kitchen, eating loads of the delicious honey baked Brie cheese Jen has made.

Zachary loved the town’s Christmas party as a child, and he wants to spread some holiday cheer both to the kids in Nortown and to John. Being Santa is not as easy as he thought it would be, though. And how he’s gonna be able to lure John out of the kitchen and get him to sit on Santa’s lap, he doesn’t know.

Friday Reads | Blessing and Light

I’m in an aww state at the moment. I just put my little one down for a nap and sneaked in a few minutes of reading before taking care of the mess in the kitchen (it’s still there *sigh*) and opened Blessing and Light by Kasia Bacon – yes, Ms Bacon this week too. Last week I read A Late Bite to Eat.

Blessing and Light is a 15-pages long story taking place during the Night of Winter Lights. Sæbastyn Hyago is watching his Captain work, happy to be there with him instead of being part of the celebrations, but then everything changes and Sæbastyn biggest fear threatens to come true.

For such a short story it’s packed with emotions, and I tiptoed out of the bedroom with a smile on my face. Blessing and Light is part of The Order series, and I haven’t read it, so they’re definitely going on my to-read list.

Blessing and Light is a free read so check it out if you’re curious!

Book Cover Blessing and Light by Kasia BaconIt’s the Night of Winter Lights.

Heedless of the holiday, the Commander of the H’Aren fortress, Captain Torýn Torhdhar, seems to find his satisfaction in work.

Such occurrence hardly surprises his Orderly, Sæbastyn Hyago, even though the young Lieutenant has spent a silent, aching decade wishing his superior officer would pursue pleasure elsewhere—specifically in his arms. But as the evening continues, nothing about it meets Sæbastyn’s expectations. Will the Lieutenant see his secret desires realised, or his heart shattered?

This alternative winter holiday short, which is a standalone set in the Order Universe.
