Lost Along the Way

Lost Along the Way (Tales of the Curious Cookbook #3) by Marie Sexton.

So this is the third book in a series and I haven’t read the first two LOL. I don’t think it matters, though. Tales of the Curious Cookbook is a series of six books written by different authors. What they have in common is Granny B’s cookbook.

Danny has been with his man for the last fifteen years, he gave up his family to be with him. He’s just started to reconnect with his parents when they pass away in a car accident. His husband has no interest in helping Danny sort out his parents’ home, he has no interest in seeing Danny all that much either.

While dealing with his parents’ clutter, Danny gets to know Landon – neighbour and wind sculptor. A cookbook is sent to them and once a banana bread is created things turn a bit strange.

While this isn’t my favourite Marie Sexton story but a knot formed in my stomach right at the beginning at the mentioned on an oil stain on the driveway and then it didn’t really go anyway until Danny was where he was supposed to be.

And he’s a weatherman! How many main characters do you come across who are weathermen?

The concept of a somewhat magic cookbook was fun and I might try some of the other stories just to see their take on it.

Lost Along the WayThree months after losing his parents in a car crash, Denver weatherman Daniel Whitaker returns to Laramie, Wyoming. It’s bad enough dealing with the death of his parents and his failing relationship of fifteen years, but when he finds his childhood home full of clutter, Daniel is at a loss. He enlists Landon, his parents’ sexy neighbor, to help him sort through the mess. Landon Kushner is a study in contradictions. He builds wind sculptures out of scrap metal and loves the outdoors, but he also rides a mint-green Vespa and has an affinity for knitting and fortune-telling. He’s been friends with Daniel’s parents for years, and he’s more than willing to lend a hand.

Their plan is simple: clean the house so Daniel can sell it and get back to his life in Denver. But when a strange cookbook comes into Landon’s possession, Daniel begins to realize that the universe–and Granny B–may have other plans.
