Never give up. Today is hard, tomorrow will be worse, but the day after tomorrow will be sunshine.
Update time! There’s been so much going on, I hardly know what I’m doing. September was the deadline month for both December and November stories, and since Holly planned on doing both, I was struggling a bit.
I made it! Holly will have 12 releases this year, one each month, and I have to say I’m quite pleased with myself. I did it, I never thought I’d be able to, but apparently, pandemics work great for getting more writing time.
During September, I wrote 26.315 words. It’s not bad for me, but I’ve had months when I’ve written a lot more. With the deadlines coming up, it’s not just words, though. Editing takes a long time, proofreading too, and I feel like I could sleep for a week now.
Sadly, I don’t have time for that. More deadlines are looming, and the dreaded day job is stealing more and more time.
So far this year, I’ve written 220.605 words, which has me 88.24% done. It means I have 29.395 words left to write. Should be doable. It’s less than 10k a month for the rest of the year. If I write every day till New Year’s Eve, I need to write 324 words per day.
It’s not how it works in my case, but it calms me to realise it’s so little I need to do.
I’ve just started a short story on the Naughty or Nice theme. The deadline is at the end of this month, so I better get cracking 😄
