It’s Wrap-Up Wednesday time, and I was sure I’d read more than four stories this month, but I’ve scrolled through my apps, and I can’t really find any more, so I guess not. Wonder what I’ve been doing 😨
Prelude to Claimings, Tails, and Other Alien Artifacts by Lyn Gala
Last month I reread Claimings, Tails, and Other Alien Artifacts but I was in the mood for more Ondry and Liam but didn’t have the energy to go on to book 2, so I read the prelude. This isn’t available but it contains little snippets, Ondry’s perspective on some events in the first book and so on. It’s before they’re paired up, so no steam, but more information about the world.
Before Liam had a new commander who openly distrusted him, before Ondry earned his ka status, there were two traders. Ye Ondry wants to earn status, and he is curious about this new human. Liam has just arrived on the planet and he’s trying to figure out these aliens who supposedly have good metals to trade. Neither of them suspects that a chance trade and a few pots knocked off a table could lead their lives and their fates to intertwine.
Note:This free story is a prequel to the story of Ondry and Liam that details how they met. As such, it’s not a romance.

Irish Red M.J. O’Shea
I couldn’t find anything about this story. No link, no blurb, no cover, nothing. I must have snagged it in some giveaway or something but usually, I can find a newsletter signup link or something, but nope.
It’s a short story about a pirate and his lover who’s patiently waiting for him to put his pirating life behind and step ashore to be with him.
A House of Blood and Gold by Raven Abernathy
This I know I grabbed off the Your Book Boyfriend’s boyfriend giveaway. I couldn’t find it anywhere but there, and I think you still can grab it if you want to.
It’s a werewolf/vampire story, and while it’s not bad, I wasn’t hooked. It had more to do with me not liking Alphonse than the story in itself. Give it a go if you think it’s for you.
Alphonse Blanchard took everything from me, but he gave me a purpose in return: vengeance.
The vampire’s very name strikes terror into the hearts of the monsters I live to hunt, yet he spared my life the night he slayed my pack, leaving me with a gilded dagger and a promise that one day–if I found him and proved myself worthy–I could have my revenge.
When the night I’ve trained all my life for finally comes, he refuses to give me the honorable battle he promised me. Instead, he humiliates me by sparing me once more and giving me yet another gift–his terrible curse. I now have no choice but to allow him to train me if I have any hope of overcoming the abominable bond his blood has forged between us.
But my wolf wants more than his life. It wants him.
Hunter of Demons by Jordan L. Hawk
This was my reread of the month. Or I had more than one reread, but this was the one I blogged about over at Holly’s, so be sure to hop on over there and have a look!
What happens when an exorcist falls in love with a demon he’s sworn to destroy?
Caleb Jansen’s life is going from bad to worse. First he’s possessed by an opinionated vampire spirit who drinks the blood of demons, then pursued by a fundamentalist group who want him dead.
His only hope is hotshot federal exorcist John Starkweather…the last man Caleb should be falling for, and the only one he wants in his bed.
