I’ve had this short story since 2014. It’s a Don’t Read in the Closet story, and it was the first year I participated, so I had this idea that I would read them all. I still haven’t, far from, but I needed a V so it seemed like a good idea.

Madness is a slight drawback.

This story had me laughing. It’s a superhero story filled by mad scientists and flesh-eating bacteria LOL. Kaede Hayashi is the son of Doctor Terror, and he doesn’t like it when people steal from him.

With Ash, the love of his life, by his side, he takes out the crime bosses in Apex, one after another.

This is short and funny, not really a romance, but who cares. If you’re into superheroes, or in this case supervillains, give it a go. It’s free since it’s a DRitC story.

Dear Author,
I know that everyone believes that I’m the monster, and that He keeps me on a leash. I don’t mind; it’s funny how everyone is deceived by our act and while they look at me with fear and loathing, His secret is safe. No one is going to know that behind his innocent look and smile there is a soulless and sadistic man. I love Him the way He is and even if He isn’t capable of love, I know that I’m the most valuable person in his life. He trusts me, He cares about me and He wants to be with me. And it’s enough.

Sometimes, I wonder— am I monster too?
